Yes, it’s your association, PAR, that provides the “I Voted” stickers you get when you vote in Phoenix and Maricopa County!
The City of Phoenix and Maricopa County provide the stickers at the polls, but because of the downturn in the economy, stopped providing the stickers in early ballots to save money.
PAR initiated the “I Voted Today” stickers in 1985 and has distributed millions of them through the Maricopa County Elections Department and the City of Phoenix. PAR prints and provides the Elections Department with enough stickers to cover the voters in some 1,093 precincts.
As a result of the increased demand to vote by mail, PAR developed an “I Voted Early” sticker for these individuals. The “I Voted Today” sticker was conceived as a visible reminder to vote, to increase afternoon and evening voter turnout.
Over the years, it has become a “badge of honor” that has sparked interest among all generations. In an effort to help educate our youth about government and the political process, the Phoenix Association of REALTORS® has become as an official sponsor of the “Kid’s Voting” Arizona program. PAR believes that educating and promoting youth involvement in the political process will stimulate better turnout at the voting polls. This is important as issues affecting the real estate profession surface more and more frequently. When children proudly display their “Kids Voting” sticker, it signifies a sense of achievement among our youth and will help ensure their continued interest and involvement in the political process.
